(From Loren Radis) : This was written at a time when I was coming off of a bad relationship but still willing to play doormat to my ex and to any other girl who seemed to show interest, I was hurt and confused and ended up getting taken advantage of a lot, sometimes purposefully and sometimes on accident. That's what this is about, kind of sarcastic jab at myself for being so willing to help and so desperate to please.
lyrics
you can say whatever you want
you can walk all over me
for any reason you can blow me off
you can pinch me until i bleed
still gonna be there when you call
still gonna catch you if you fall
still gonna be the one who listens, when you're cryin' on the phone
still gonna buy you little presents, when i'm out away from home
still gonna watch your dumb tv shows, so you don't have to watch alone
still gonna be the one who loves you, if you want me to be
if you want me to be
you don't have to listen to me
you don't have to return my calls
you don't need to do anything for me
all you gotta do is call
and i'll be right there by your side
even if you're just using me for a free ride
still gonna be the one who listens, when you're cryin' on the phone
still gonna buy you little presents, when i'm out away from home
still gonna watch your dumb tv shows, so you don't have to watch alone
still gonna be the one who loves you, if you want me to be
if you want me to be
i don't know why, guess i'm mr. nice guy
i've tried not to be oh god knows i've tried
but you can hurt me, ignore me, leave me, you can shoot me down
still you know that i will be around
still gonna be the one who listens, when you're cryin' on the phone
still gonna buy you little presents, when i'm out away from home
still gonna watch your dumb tv shows, so you don't have to watch alone
still gonna be the one who loves you, if you want me to be
still gonna be the one who loves you
i'll always be the one who loves you...
